It’s my birthday on Wednesday. I’ll be 39. I’m leaving for the Oregon coast tomorrow, staying all day Wednesday, and coming back on Thursday. I am certain I will find many things to do, but I had to pack knitting and spinning…just in case. And not just one knit project. I have two. And of course, they aren’t WIP’s, they are brand new projects. My WIP’s are at the stage where I don’t think they’re real portable. They need too much concentration. I just want mindless knits.
So, I’m taking cotton for a dishcloth, because if I don’t bribe myself every so often with a new dishcloth, I won’t do my dishes. And I’m taking a new sock. I just bought some beautifully dyed sock yarn from Happy Fuzzy Yarn. In these colors:

They don’t quite go together, but I’m putting them together. I’m going to make the toes and heels (short row) the opposite color. I think that will look cute.
And I’m taking this lovely lavender colored Shetland batt that I got at the Black Sheep Gathering along with a spindle and one of my bobbins. I was going to take a plying spindle with me, but I thought that was overkill. I can just keep filling up the bobbin until I get home.
But like I said, I will probably be busy doing things, and I won’t have time to knit, although I think probably in the evenings we’ll be knitting and talking.
I haven’t been knitting lately…been playing my ocarina and my ukulele. I forgot how relaxing it is. I’m on vacation from work for a little more than a week. Hopefully, I’ll be rested and restored. We got a new supervisor at work, who is a hardass, and I’m not fond of her. I’m actually thinking of looking for another job, so maybe my foul mood will pass. I’d like to stay there, if possible. It’s a good company with good benefits. And I like what I do.
