About

I’m a 38 -year old female, living in the Pacific Northwest. I have always had a love affair with fiber, although I don’t think I realized it until recently.

I learned how to crochet as a girl, but I only did it sporadically for years. Back in 2001 or 2002, I taught myself to knit. And I’ve been doing it obsessively and regularly since then. I don’t crochet much anymore, because I think knitting is the perfect marriage of fiber and craft. I’ve never tried weaving, but I don’t see myself getting jazzed up about it. For me, knitting and fiber go together like a horse and carriage.

I have started spinning, and it’s the most amazing thing. It’s magical! It’s such a simple thing…add twist to make the fiber strong…and it’s that simplicity that makes it magical.

I have also tried dyeing. There seems to be no end to this fiber obsession!

So, there you have it. I’ll be posting about knitting, and spinning, and dyeing. I’m also interested in feminism, primitivism, and vegetarianism, but those topics are covered over at my other home.
